We were drawn to a calf cry at the auction and found Sparky and Scooter and opened our home to them. Scooter (a black and white holstein) was only a day or two old and very sick. All male calves are considered a by product of the dairy industry, born so their mother will produce milk, but taken away from their mother so the milk can be used for humans.
Sparky has grown into a very large and handsome boy. He looks almost identical to his big brother Desi, except for the tuft between his ears that is very noticeable. Sparky loves treats, scratches and attention from visitors.
